Abstract
The Braun-Blanquet method of vegetation description and classification was employed to investigate and ascertain the ecological status of the understorey vegetation of Pinus pinaster and Pinus radiata forests on Table Mountain. On the basis of the data accumulated, recommendations are made for the removal of the Pines in certain areas. Appropriate methods for phased eradication are suggested.Keywords
