Abstract
The X-ray photoemission spectra of the valence bands of Be, Na and Mg have been measured. The analysis shows that after taking into account the partial density of states the core hole-conduction electron coupling and the energy-loss structure, there is good agreement between the experimental spectra and the calculated density of states curves. Keywords
