Abstract
The method of obtaining the gamma dose rate during a prompt critical burst from the “Godiva” reactor is presented. In this measurement, the fission product gamma ray contribution to the total gamma ray dose must be determined. The determination of this quantity is described along with the results. Conclusions are drawn as to the relative contributions to the total dose from prompt, capture, and inelastic collision gamma ray sources. Keywords
