Negative-charge production by hydrogen atoms in Ar, Kr, Xe, CO, CO2, and CH4 in the energy range 80–2000 eV

Abstract
Experimental cross sections for negative‐charge production by neutral hydrogen atoms in the energy range 80eV–2keV in Ar, Kr, Xe, CO, CO2, and CH4 are reported. In all cases, a smooth increase of the cross section with energy is observed, from values of about 10−17 cm2 at 80 eV to a few times 10−16 cm2 at 2kev.
