Improved Comfort Polyester

Abstract
A series of polyester, cotton, rayon, polypropylene, polybenzimidazole, and polyester/cotton blend fabrics were evaluated in two subjective wearer trials. Subjective trial data were correlated with results of in-house laboratory tests. Important findings were that both geometric modifications and surface treatments play an important role in perceived comfort; however, objective testing can only predict general trends in comfort or pick out extremely poor candidates. These are supplemental but are no substitutes for a well planned and well run subjective wear trial analysis.
