Ultrasonic Visualization of an Umbilical Vein

Abstract

A patent umbilical vein was demonstrated via ultrasound in a patient with portal hypertension. Ultrasonographic differential diagnosis of intra- and juxta-hepatic veins is given, with emphasis on real time ultrasonography.
