Amyloid and Medullary Carcinoma of the Thyroid

Abstract
] A medullary carcinoma of the thyroid was found in a patient who died in status epilepticus. Histology showed amyloid-like material in the stroma of the neoplasm. This material consisted of bundles of 100 A diameter aperiodic fibrils resembling those described in amyloid situations elsewhere.
