Abstract

The first substances eluted from Sephadex had larger sedimentation constants, dialyzed more slowly, produced more gel precipitin bands, and induced greater tuberculin reactions than the subsequently eluting substances. By fractional dialysis through cellulose membranes, it was possible to concentrate larger molecules within the bag and show that most of the immunologic activity was associated with these substances.
