Novel Synthesis of 3-Hydroxy-β-damascone, 3-Hydroxydihydro-β-damascone andβ-damascenone

Abstract
Naturally occurring damascone analogues, 3-hydroxy-β-damascone, 3-hydroxydihydro-β-damascone and β-damascenone, which are known as key substances for the flavor of rose oil and tobacco, were synthesized via Diels-Alder reaction of the reactive diene, l-methoxy-3-trimethylsilyloxy-butadiene.
