Abstract
A high resolution grating spectrometer and a hollow cathode lamp were used to study the (2,0) band of the.A2Π–X2Σ transitions of the ion CO+. High resolution measurements permit satisfactory separation of the doublet components and facilitate study of the intensities, so it is possible to evaluate the p and q constants for the Λ splitting of the 2Π state. Earl's formulae are obeyed with a precision of better than 5%.
