The effect of sodium phenobarbital on the learning behavior of white rats.

Abstract
28 exptl. and 27 control rats were run on a 10-unit multiple U maze with water reward. Intraperitoneal injections of Na phenobarbital, in near lethal dosages, were given the exptl. group after each daily run. Drugged animals were consistently inferior in learning, as measured by both time and errors, and in relearning after a 6-weeks interval. Results are compared with those of previous studies.
