Abstract
The observations of Slein (1952) on the non-phosphor-ylation of galactosamine by ATP and yeast hexokinase were confirmed. A method is presented for separating galactosamine from glucosamine before assaying it. The method is applied to the analysis of hydrolysates of the A. niger cell wall.Keywords
