Abstract
The effects of atropine sulfate on the acquisition and retention of a successive discrimination problem were studied. Atropine was found to retard acquisition of the successive discrimination and to interfere with the retention both for barely learned as well as over learned responses. A latent learning situation provides indirect evidence that atropine''s effect on learning is primarily through an effect on the central nervous system.
