Abstract
The failure, revealed by the experiment of Treloar, of statistical theories of the rubber‐like elasticity is removed. It comes from the neglection of the nongaussian character and of the nonlinear connectivity of the network structure. The theoretical formula derived here includes the semi‐empirical formula given by Treloar. Keywords
