Abstract
The Blumlein circuit used to excite pulsed dischargegas lasers is by now well known and has had several successful applications. This article describes a similar excitation method but with a modified electrode configuration which offers a uniform discharge over a larger cross section and which can be constructed with relative ease. The method is successfully demonstrated in a nitrogen 3371 Å pulsed laser. Keywords
