Abstract
Sufficient conditions are derived for the exponential stability of non‐uniform collisionless guiding center plasma when the magnetic field in equilibrium is unidirectional. These conditions are local analogs of the criteria obtained for uniform plasma equilibria. Growth rates slower than exponential ones are considered. Keywords
