Comparison of Women's Liberation Members with Their Nonmember Peers

Abstract

The Torrance Life Experience Inventory, 107 items concerning an individual's family as well as his past and current behaviors, was administered to 25 Women's Liberation members and 25 peers. On achievement for excellence, creativity, elaboration, originality, and risk-taking, members of women's liberation had higher means than their 25 nonmember peers. Significant differences ( p = .01) were found on risk-taking, creativity, and originality. Significant differences in activities were also found. More women's liberation members reported receiving honors for things they did outside the classroom. Women's liberation members had higher grade averages in school than their nonmember peers.
