Abstract
Lingual carcinomas were produced at various sites on the hamster tongue by local application of 9,10-dimethyl-1,2-benzanthracene. The period of carcinogenesis, degree of infiltration, and frequency of metastases were different according to site. The lateral border of the middle third of the tongue was most sensitive to the carcinogen and showed the most severe infiltration and frequent metastases. Keywords
