Abstract
Simultaneously occurring inflammations of the cerebrospinal system and myocardium are rare if one excludes poliomyelitis. The encephalomyocarditis virus and related strains have been shown to produce such lesions. Three instances in man are related and the reasons for a possible virus origin of this disease entity are given. A plea is made for virus studies in other pertinent cases.Keywords
