Abstract
The angular distribution of ions desorbing from the surface of a solid is studied theoretically. Specific calculations for oxygen adsorbed on the (100) face of tungsten are presented. The angular patterns result from the three-dimensional spatial variations in the ion-solid potential surface. Details of the pattern are found to vary sensitively with changes in the surface geometry. Keywords
