Abstract
A review of selected literature was conducted to examine the socio-economic and nutritional status of the black elderly. Strong evidence that links adverse dietary habits to socio-economic factors is presented. The authors relate these to the group that is most affected by this - the elderly black poor. They discuss what needs to be done to develop processes and programs that promote and protect the nutritional health of the nation's black elderly. Keywords
