Nitrogenous Excretory Products of Trichinella spiralis Larvae

Abstract
T. spiralis larvae were incubated aerobically under axenic conditions. Chemical analysis of the incubates showed the presence of 400 to 600 [mu]g of N per 100,000 larvae per 24 hours incubation. The nitrogenous products consisted of 33.3% ammonia N, 7.4% volatile amine N, 20.8% peptide N, and 28.5% amino acid N, with 10% of the total N unaccounted for.
