Frustration in a linear array of vortices

Abstract
The experimental study of a linear array of vortices shows the existence of spatially modulated states of oscillation above onset. A model of coupled oscillators is proposed, and the measurements of the corresponding first- and second-neighbor couplings show that these regimes are the result of frustration.Keywords
