Abstract
In exptl. infections of mice with T. cruzi the occurrence of an exudative pleuritis was observed. The clear bacteriologically sterile exudate contained trypanosome forms as well as intracellular leishmania-like inclusion bodies. The frequency of pleuritis seemed to depend on the number of parasites in the inoculum and varied from 3.6% after a light intra-abdominal infection to 50% after heavy infections.
