The Forsythe polynomial curve fitting routine and multiple regression analysis are used to determine various thermodynamic functions. Heat content values from (P, t) data are determined using the polynomial routine. Real gas equations for H 2 O and CO 2 are determined using multiple regression analysis. The flexibility of multiple regression analysis is emphasized because it may be applied as a general "least square" solution to most forms of equations.
