Polarization of laser-excited fluorescent lines from 85Rb2 and 87Rb2 molecules

Abstract

Polarization studies are made of the various fluorescent lines from the excited ⁸⁵Rb₂(C) state or the ⁸⁷Rb₂(C) state populated by the 4765 or the 4880 Å Ar ion laser lines. We conclude that the previous hypothesis that all these fluorescent lines are Q branches is incorrect.
