Studies indicate that a triple investigational approach in which antibody production, cell reactivity, and clinical measurements are used for assessment of immunization procedures in allergic disease is valid and useful. Such an approach should lead to definitive evaluation of various types of therapy and to clarification of the mechanisms by which they modify hypersensitive reactions.
