Abstract
The electronic structure of hexagonal close-packed alkali-metal monolayers on the semi-infinite jellium is studied to simulate the ordered (√3 ×√3 )R30° monolayers on Al(111). The calculated electron band structure is in good agreement with recent photoemission and inverse photoemission experiments, yet it is different from the band structure of isolated monolayers in some important aspects. Keywords
