Abstract
All externally applied stimuli (mechanical, physical, toxic, allergic and bacteriological) induced typical acantholysis in Hailey''s pemphigus, 12-24 hours after application. At that time bacteriological cultures have been still sterile. In Hailey''s pemphigus acantholysis has been found also in the coexistent skin lesions of eczema and psoriasis type. In Darier''s disease all these tests (12-24 hours after they have been carried out) have been negative. Hailey''s pemphigus seems to be a nosological entity characterized by an inborn acantholysis, which can be induced by various external stimuli. Keywords
