Abstract
Cesario, T. C., V. Jones, J. D. Poland, and T. D. Y. Chin. (NCDC, 2002 W. 39th St., Kansas City, Kansas 66103). Persistence of poliovirus neutralizing antibodies four years after immunization with live attenuated vaccine. Amer. J. Epid., 1969, 90: 157–161.—Protection as indicated by the presence of antibodies appears adequate 4 years after oral poliovirus immunization in children who previously had received inactivated poliovirus vaccine. Ninety-seven per cent, 100 per cent, and 88 per cent of the population had detectable neutralizing antibody titers (1: 4) for poliovirus types 1, 2, and 3, respectively, 4 years after immunization.
