Abstract
Tranverse sections (5[mu]) of Trochodendron aralioides, Betula papyrifera, and Taxodium sp. were attached to glass microscope slides with de-ashed gelatin and incinerated at 600[degree] C in an electric oven. Apparatus and technic are described. With dark field illumination the ash residues revealed excellent topographical preservation of cell patterns. Photomicrographs indicate conspicuous deposits in primary walls and a virtual lack of ash in secondary walls. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
