CT Evaluation of Pulmonary Artery Size

Abstract

The diameter of the right main pulmonary artery [in humans] can be assessed on axial transverse computed tomography. This measurement is simpler than measuring the right descending pulmonary artery on posteroanterior chest radiographs, which was previously used as an index of pulmonary hypertension. A method of measuring this structure is discussed.
