Abstract
Attempts to demonstrate a sulfatase in mammalian tissues attacking sulfated mucopolysaccharides were unsuccessful. Both chemical and histochemical methods were employed. Some risks involved in the use of the lead salt technique in enzyme histochemistry are pointed out.Keywords
