Abstract
METHYLTESTOSTERONE has been known to be associated with jaundice and tissue evidence of biliary cholestasis, as mentioned by Werner in 19501 and by subsequent authors.2 Certain modifications of the basic steroid structure have yielded compounds of therapeutic value; however, jaundice has been reported as a side effect with methylestrenolone (Orga steron),3 , 4 norethandrolone (Nilevar)5 6 7 and norethindrone (Norlutin)8 therapy. This is the first case report in which jaundice and tissue changes of biliary cholestasis developed after norethindrone acetate had been given for more than six weeks.Case ReportA 35-year-old woman was admitted to the hospital on February 19, 1962, with jaundice . . .Keywords
