Abstract
Cross sections for H(2s) formation by electron capture in H+-H collisions have been remeasured using a tungsten-tube furnace to provide a target of highly dissociated hydrogen. The results involve smaller uncertainties than previous experimental data and permit a better assessment of the various theoretical descriptions at low impact energies. Keywords
