Abstract
In recent years the molecular basis of antigen recognition by T cells has been unraveled and the various pathways that control T cell activation and functional specialization have been defined. Consequently, it is now possible to delineate various strategies for intervention with the immune system to design protective vaccines, to induce an effective response to tumor antigens, and to control graft rejection and autoimmune diseases. Keywords
