Abstract
Ani- mals with many chromosomes can conjugate with animals having few; animals with the usual micronucleus can conjugate with animals without a micronucleus. A result of conjugation in Paramecium is the elimination of the great diversities in the nuclear apparatus and in chromosome number that may exist between 2 conjugants. Keywords
