Abstract
The interrelationship of the forces acting on a solid suspended at a liquid-liquid interface was studied. An analysis is presented of the dependence of the maximum specific gravity of the solid., at which it will remain suspended, on the physical and physicochemical parameters of the system. The conditions for sustained suspension and the changes required for this purpose in some of the above parameters were determined. The mathematical relationships obtained yielded a theoretical model for separation of solids heavier than either of the liquids. Keywords
