Abstract
The gastric secretory response to histamine or alcohol was greatly enhanced and prolonged after the adm. of caffeine in comparison to the output of HCl or gastric juice provoked by the pre-caffeine adm. of histamine or alcohol in both man and the cat. The gastric secretory response to histamine (or alcohol) and caffeine administered simultaneously was considerably greater than the sum of the preceding individual responses to the same doses of histamine (or alcohol) and caffeine given separately. The response to the combined action of these drugs was prolonged and maintained at a high level. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
