Abstract
Fifty trimethoprim-resistant clinical isolates of Escherichia coli, devoid of self transmissible trimethoprim resistance plasmids, were examined for the presence of trimethoprim resistance transposons. Trimethoprim resistance was mobilized from 12 strains by transposition onto plasmid RP4.
