Pressure Effects of Helium and Argon on the First Sharp Series Doublet of Indium

Abstract
The shift, half-width, and asymmetry of the Inλ4101 and λ4511 lines produced by various pressures of helium and argon up to 120 atmospheres and the appearance of satellite bands near these lines are described. The entire absorption line contours and the wings of the pressure-broadened lines were studied. The experimental observations were compared with the Anderson-Talman theory at general pressures.
