Method for Non-Destructive Determination of Inorganic and Organic Material in Mineralized Tissues

Abstract

The theoretical background for quantitative analyses of organic and inorganic components in sections of mineralized tissues employing dichromatic microradiography is given. The technical procedure is briefly described and some examples are given of the application of the method to analyses of freeze-sectioned and freeze-dried bone and of plastic-embedded ground-sectioned bone.
