Abstract
The Consensus document on cancer-specific training in general practice was unanimously adopted, 20 October 1994, at the UEMO consensus conference on specific training for general practice. Copenhagen, 19 & 20 October 1994. Cancer diseases are near perfect models for the provision of care in general practice; the range of activities they involve cover prevention, stages of disease and diagnosis, treatment and cure, death and bereavement counselling. Educational programmes and methods and teaching skills acquired in general practice training are directly relevant to cancer care in general practice. The consensus document complements both the UEMO Copenhagen Consensus Document on Specific Training for General Practice (1994) and the Consensus Document on Cancer Training for General Practitioners (1991).
