A Study of 547 Patients at a French Hospital for the Criminally Insane

Abstract
This is a study of 547 patients hospitalized in a French hospital for the criminally insane over the past 10 yr. This chart review study correlates diagnosis with criminal act and other psychological and sociological parameters. It is of note that the diagnosis of paranoia is strongly associated with violent crimes against persons, especially murder, whereas personality disorders are more associated with criminal acts involving property.
