Abstract
The Stark effect in CH3Cl has been used for modulation of the CO2 9.4-2µm-P(26) laser line. The results of absorption measurements of the CO2 laser radiation in CH3C1 are used to identify the CH3Cl line responsible for this effect as the RQ3 (6) line of the ν6 band. The measured value of the integrated intensity of this line is in good agreement with the value calculated from the intensity of the ν6 band. Q switching of the CO2 laser by the Stark effect is more efficient in CH3Cl than in NH3.
