Abstract
Force constants have been calculated for the out‐of‐plane bending motions of the vinyl halides and for cis‐ and trans‐ 1,2‐dichloroethylene. Published vibrational assignments have been followed for the most part, but several changes were found necessary. A generally consistent set of force constants was obtained in which the values are also similar to those for the methyl halides. Keywords
