Structure of zinc selenide crystals and defects introduced during growth

Abstract
The structure of zinc selenide crystals grown from the vapour is strongly dependent on the growth temperature. These crystals can have either the wurtzite structure or a mixed wurtzite–zinc blende form. In wurtzite crystals, stacking faults are observed either on basal planes or on prismatic planes, as in zinc sulphide. In zinc blende crystals, the stacking faults lie along {111} planes.
