Dependence of the Stark broadening on the emitter charge for the3s3ptransitions of Li-like ions

Abstract
The Stark widths of the 3s3p transitions for the Li-like ions CIV, NV, and OVI were measured for the plasma parameters ne=1.8×1024 m3 and kTe=12.5 eV. Within the error limits, the measurements clearly show a Z1 dependence of the Stark width on the emitter ionization stage Z (Z=4 for CIV), whereas calculations within the electron-impact approximation yield Stark widths more nearly proportional to Z2.
