l-Threonine ethanolamine phosphate: a compound newly isolated from fish

Abstract
L-Threonine ethanolamine phosphate has been synthesized and certain of its chemical and physical properties were determined. A compound identical in all respects with L-threonine ethanolamine phosphate has been identified in, and isolated from, the tissues of the freshwater trout (Salmo irideus). The compound is also present in the lungfish (Neoceratodus). The distribution of L-threonine ethanolamine phosphate has been determined in various organs of both species of fish. The compound could not be detected in tissues of the chicken, river turtle or frog, all of which contain serine ethanolamine phosphate.
