Abstract
The effect of pressure to 300 kbar has been measured on the lattice parameters of Al2O3. Corundum has a rhombohedral unit cell and is relatively incompressible (∼9% in 300 kbar). Perhaps the most intersting feature involves an increase of the rhombohedral angle of about 0.5° over this pressure range. Keywords
